Two Cultures - One Unique Flavor

Founder Pedro Sanchez Santiago started crafting the traditionally Puerto Rican liquor in 2017 to the delight of his closest friends and family. The Pandemic hindered the personal delivery of the holiday delight and many thought the experience would be lost to the tide. Pedro was adopted and raised in NYC by a very loving and proud Puerto Rican family who always counselled him to never ever give up on that which brought joy in peoples lives. It is with this same drive and determination that the Don is happy to return with the same classic Coquito recipe - but with a twist!
Pedro experimented with expanding the flavor profile to include "aguardiente de caña" (Mexican Rum) resulting in a smooth creamy taste that (as his birth name implies) gracefully unifies both cultures. Don Coquito is a rich cream-based coconut liqueur, infused with select Rum, Whiskey and Brandy blended together with a variety of spices to provide a unique experience for the holidays. Don Coquito is ready to pour and best served chilled with the ones you cherish this holiday season

COQUITO HISTORY
Eggnog was founded far earlier than the Coquito and was comprised largely of the easily accessible fresh eggs and dairy cream. The first recorded use of the word dated around 1775. The origin of Coquito however is less clear, and the recipe made its emergence between 1950 and 1970, appearing in several Puerto Rican Cookbook publications. Many speculate the Spaniards introduced the beverage during the imperial colonial occuption of Puerto Rico.
The original recipe called for Caribbean Rum, and was followed by Puerto Rico adding Coconut milk enhancing the flavor profile further. Despite it's somewhat mysterious roots the drink is enjoyed by many families during the holiday season and includes a wide variety of flavoring including cinnamon, coffee, pumpkin, butterscotch, chocolate, vanilla and strawberries.
